Heinz Hänggi Sr. uses his know-how and knowledge to become self-employed, working from his parents' home in Grenchen. His strong determination coupled with self-developed solutions quickly establishes him in the field of precision tool making.
The business is expanded with the purchase of the first stamping press. The young company develops well, which is partly due to the fact that Heinz' wife, Klara, is able to offer support with the office and administration in addition to looking after the household and family.
Space runs out and the first big step is taken with the building of an additional 130-m2 extension.
The company continues to expand strongly, even in the recession triggered by the oil crisis. This success is helped by the commitment of Heinz' two sons, who have now decided to follow in the footsteps of their father. High quality, innovative solutions to technical problems and extensive know-how make the company invaluable for the strongly diversified Swiss and international customer base. This development leads to new investments.
Simultaneously, the production area is doubled and the first step is taken to relocate to Bettlach.
The business is changed from a sole proprietorship to become Hänggi AG Stanztechnik. A new production facility of around 1,000 m² is planned and in 1981, the company moves to Bettlach.
New capacity is needed and a further expansion of 3,000 m² is undertaken in Bettlach and at the same time the complete production is put together, including the tool making.
A historical year. The senior Hänggi retires and his son, Eugen Hänggi, takes over the company as sole shareholder. At the same time the opportunity is taken to acquire the neighboring industrial building. The facility is converted in order to be used for precision stamping.
Major development and expansion in the field of microstamping motivate the company to expand and add a further production area of around 1,800 m².
The new millennium starts well and as the year progresses, plans for new buildings are already under way.
After a 2-year construction phase the move is made into the new, modern production facility.
